Our next events…

A Seat at my table is an Oatlands Community Group initiative that we are trialing  during November 2016. As the days get shorter and darker opportunities to socialise can dwindle.

We would like to suggest that you invite someone to share a seat at your table this November.

You could invite an elderly neighbour who always eats on their own, somebody that you know that lives alone, someone that you might like to get to know a little better or maybe somebody that has recently moved to your area.

During December, we would like to encourage residents in our community to take part in our ‘Alternative Advent Calendar’.

On each day of December whilst opening a door on an advent calendar or instead of having a traditional advent calendar, we encourage you to decorate a box and put an item into it to help support the homeless and needy throughout January, for example: tins and jars of food, pasta, rice, sugar and biscuits, toiletries and household essentials.

On the first Saturday of Every Month, Oatlands Community Group will be running a Fundraising Café.

Past events…

Oatlands Community Group worked to increase community spirit in the Oatlands area. The idea behind the Random Acts of Kindness Month October 2016 was to encourage people to do more to make life pleasant for those around them – by giving a smile, some change for the bus, or a hand with heavy shopping.

Our CommuniTEA was a huge success Our youngest guest was 9 months and our oldest over 90 yrs. friendships were rekindled and new friendships made.  With thanks to donations made we also raised £60 for The Harrogate Homeless Project.

If you know of someone in our community that you feel may enjoy attending the next CommuniTEA, drop us an email and we can put then on our list to receive an invite to our next event. http://www.oatlandscommunity.co.uk/contact-us/

Our last event celebrated the Queen’s 90th birthday with a Really Royal Picnic on Oatlands Playing Field.
